Leaving your beloved pet behind while you’re away for the holidays can be tough. How do you keep your pet happy and healthy during holiday boarding? At Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center, it’s our mission to provide a safe, fun, and comfortable experience for your furry friend. Owned by two veterinarians and with a veterinary hospital on-site, we’re here to make your dog’s stay as enjoyable as possible – giving you complete peace of mind. Here’s how to keep your pet happy and health while boarding over the holidays to ensure a positive experience.
Choose an Activity Package
For all pets, an activity package is a great way to keep them entertained and happy during their resort stay! Whether your dog is attending daycare, going for a nature walk or your cat is purring on a cozy lap, our pet professionals provide loving attention to each guest. Your dog will be engaged throughout the day and your cat will receive the amount of attention desired. You can choose from a range of options based on your pet’s personality and energy level, including:
- Small playgroups with other friendly dogs for social interaction and fun
- One-on-one playtime with a staff member, perfect for dogs who prefer human interaction
- Dog daycare for those pups that thrive with plenty of opportunity for socialization, exercise and enrichment
- Nature walks around our beautiful 50-acre property, offering fresh air, exercise, and plenty of things for that busy nose to sniff
- Variety of cat toys including feather wands, organic catnip toys, or cuddles on a warm lap
- Bedtime story & gourmet biscuit (We have a small library of pet-themed books the dogs love!)
When your pet is happily engaged, they’ll experience less separation anxiety – making their stay a wonderful adventure!
Ensure Vaccines Are Up-to-Date
A key part of preparing for a boarding stay is making sure your pet’s vaccines are current. For everyone’s safety, Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center requires all canine guests to be vaccinated against:
- Rabies
- Distemper/Parvo
- Bordetella (kennel cough)
- Canine Influenza
Our feline guests should have proof of vaccination for rabies and feline distemper.
Having vaccines up-to-date is essential not only for your pet’s health but for the health of all guests. If you’re unsure about which vaccines your pet needs, our staff is happy to provide guidance.
Schedule a Departure Bath
After a few days of boarding, there’s nothing quite like a fresh bath to make your dog feel (and smell!) amazing. Scheduling a departure bath means your pup will be ready to come home looking their best. Our grooming team uses high-quality products tailored to your dog’s skin and coat needs, ensuring a soothing experience with a sparkling finish.
Want to go a step further? Add a grooming session for a trim or a spa treatment for a full salon experience. Your pup will be pampered and primped, so they’re as excited to see you as you are to see them.
Peace of Mind with On-Site Veterinary Care
Nothing brings pet parents peace of mind like knowing their dog or cat is safe, happy, and healthy. As a pet resort owned by veterinarians with Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care onsite, the resort offers veterinary care should the need arise.
At Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center, we understand that leaving your beloved pet with us can be a big decision. But with our customized activity packages, health standards and strict cleaning protocols, and an available departure bath for your dog, we’ve thought of every detail to ensure your pet is happy and healthy during holiday boarding–making it the best experience possible for your pet and you!
