DOYLESTOWN, PA, April 1, 2016—Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center announces the grand opening of The Spa on State for full-service pet grooming in the heart of Doylestown.

To celebrate, Doylestown Borough Mayor Ron Strouse and the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce CEO & President Dr. Vail Garvin attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at The Spa on State on Friday, April 1 to kick off a Grand Opening Weekend at the grooming salon.

A $500 donation will be made to Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs (RRTD)—a non-profit volunteer organization that promotes literacy and comfort for children through therapy dogs—to represent each visitor who scheduled a grooming appointment while at the new salon over the weekend and a contribution by Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. Visitors during the grand opening weekend enjoyed refreshments, and dogs received a free nail trimming, festive bandana and a special gourmet treat.

“We are very excited to join the businesses that make Doylestown a wonderful, vibrant destination. This April marks 12 years since Randy and I assumed ownership of Holiday House Pet Resort and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital, and expanding our pet care business into the borough has been a dream for many years,” said Dr. Laura Weis, who owns and operates Holiday House Pet Resort and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital with her husband Dr. Randy Weis.Riley grooming A

Normal business hours for the dog grooming salon are 10am to 6pm Tuesdays through Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The salon offers full grooming services with expanded spa packages and options. There are also plans to offer specialty products, such as collars, leashes, toys and treats, and small training classes.

Doylestown is a pet-friendly community and it’s wonderful to see people walking through town year-round or attending special events with their dogs. Pets are family so it’s important for residents and visitors to have a pet care business conveniently located in the center of town to meet their unique needs,” added Dr. Weis.

The Spa on State at 42 E. Sdog groomingtate Street is a second location for the resort’s pet grooming service. Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center, situated on 50-acress off North Shady Retreat Road in Doylestown Township, has evolved from basic lodging and bathing to an all-inclusive luxury pet resort with the addition of lodging activities, daycare, professional training programs, and a full grooming salon. Since assuming ownership from veterinarian Dr. Stuart Fox in 2004, the community has benefited from the creation of new jobs, additional pet services, and promotion of charities and events for animals in need.
