DOYLESTOWN, PA, November 22, 2019—The Bucks County SPCA received a $1,000.00 donation from Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. The resort’s dog daycare program held a Halloween photo fundraiser, and used towel and blanket drive to benefit the shelters located in Lahaska and Quakertown.
Pet parents of dogs enrolled in the resort’s dog daycare program received an official photo of their dog in a Halloween costume in return for a donation to the Bucks County SPCA. The pet resort, located in Doylestown, holds similar fundraising events throughout the year to support different non-profit organizations in the area.
“The Bucks County SPCA is grateful to have such amazing partnerships like the one with Holiday House Pet Resort and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital. As an independent locally-supported nonprofit, we’re grateful to be part of a community that loves animals and gives so generously. We appreciate everyone who donated towels and supplies, and the funds raised from the Halloween photo fundraiser will go a long way to help us help the thousands of animals rescued and rehomed this year alone,” said Darle Digney, Director of Development with the Bucks County SPCA.
The response for used towel and blanket donations was overwhelming. Over 15 large bags of used linens donated by Holiday House Pet Resort clients were delivered to the Lahaska shelter during October.
“Giving back to local organizations that support the people and pets in our community is important to everyone at Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. Our staff, the dogs and the parents have fun with the special photos, so when it supports an organization as important as the SPCA then we all benefit as a stronger pet community. We are grateful to our generous clients for donating to the organizations we support,” said Dr. Laura Weis who owns and operates the Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care with her husband Dr. Ransome Weis.
