DOYLESTOWN, PA, May 30, 2023—Kin Wellness & Support Center received a $1500 donation from Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center held its annual Dog Prom fundraising event on Friday, May 5, 2023. Clients of the dog daycare program received an official prom portrait of their dog for a donation to the non-profit center that supports clients with cancer throughout Bucks County, PA.

“Kin is such a vital resource for the community. Most people have been affected by cancer —either diagnosed themselves or by knowing a family member or friend on that journey. This center serves a tremendous need for integrative services that benefit those with cancer,” said Dr. Laura Weis, co-owner of Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center and Doylestown Hospital & Holistic Pet Care adding, “We are grateful to our generous clients for sharing our support of the welcoming space that Kristina and Keith have established.”

Kin was born from a wish by Corinne Sikora, a local resident who battled breast and brain cancer, for a place in the community where people with cancer could find emotional, social, and physical support. Corinne passed away on November 25, 2020. Her wish was realized when Kin opened its doors in Furlong, PA on December 8, 2021. The center offers free integrative, therapeutic, and wellness services to any Bucks County resident with cancer and their caregiver. As a non-profit, Kin is funded by donations and staffed mostly by volunteers.

“Keith and I bring our dog, Sunny, to Kin every day, and we see firsthand the power this amazing creature has on impacting the health and wellbeing of our guests.  It is such a joy for us to support our local cancer community and collaborate with the amazingly creative and caring people (and the pooches) who make up the Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center.  We look forward to a long-lasting relationship,” remarked Kristina Fenimore, Director of Kin.

Prom is a milestone celebrated by high school students and their families every spring, and dogs are cherished members of their families too! The Garden Party theme highlighted the beauty of Bucks County and the pet resort campus in spring. The dog daycare programs at Holiday House Pet Resort support each unique dog’s social, emotional, and physical well-being in a loving, safe, and fun-filled environment.
