Between Friends Outreach Receives Donation

DOYLESTOWN, PA, June 3, 2019—Between Friends Outreach (BFO) received a $1,500.00 donation from Holiday House Pet Resort & Training Center. The resort’s dog daycare program held its annual Daycare Prom and Woof & Wine Reception fundraiser in early May. The event raised awareness of the organization’s mission and clients received an official prom photo of their dog for a donation to BFO. Between Friends Outreach Receives Donation

“We are very thankful for this generous donation,” said Tara Stoop, BFO founder and president.

Between Friends Outreach, a non-profit organization located in Perkasie, PA, serves veterans, homeless and low-income residents in Bucks and Montgomery counties by providing food, clothing, emergency shelter and housing assistance, counseling, and medical assistance. The mission of the organization is to help clients with immediate needs as well as life skills and support for long-term success.

“It is through the kindness of others, such as the clients of Holiday House Pet Resort and their dog prom event, that makes it possible for us to continue helping people in our communities,” added Stoop.

This year’s Stars of HollyWOOF theme celebrated the glamour of a Hollywood awards ceremony. Pet parents walked the red carpet and were welcomed by resort staff with Hollywood trivia questions, greeted with their dog, and received the prom photo. Families had their photo taken in front of a Hollywood gala backdrop, and mingled with staff and guests.

The featured wines for tasting came from One Hope Wine, represented by Doylestown resident Kim Maduzia. Each wine offered is associated with a charitable cause, so sales of the wines selected for the event benefitted the ASPCA and Between Friends Outreach.

“Giving back to the community is important to everyone at the resort, and we enjoy creating special occasions for the dogs and our clients. Being able to combine a fun event with an opportunity to create awareness and raise funds for a local organization makes the entire experience more meaningful. We are extremely grateful for the supportive clients who generously donated,” said Dr. Laura Weis who owns and operates the resort and Doylestown Veterinary Hospital with her husband, Dr. Randy Weis.
